Menganjak Paradigma di Pangkor Babak I

Marina Bay park

view from the verrandah
View all 19 photos...

Date : 12-13 May 2006
Location : Room 345, the Orient Star Resort Lumut,
Kota Belanda (Dutch Fort), Chinese Temple and Teluk Nipah beach, Pangkor Island.

The first place we visited was Marina Bay, a newly-finished seaside park with views of ships,
big ol rusty one. We stayed at The Orient Star that costs mak RM188 per night.
At 4 pm we & Makcik Ani and her daughter took a ferry to Pangkor Island & arrived there half an hour later. Then we paid the pink taxi driver to take us to explore the whole of Pangkor that has to offer.
That one costs RM50 per tour.

First stop on the the tour was Kota Belanda, a ruined fort once erected by the Dutch, then burn to ground and then remodelled by the local as a part of historical sites.
A quick stop at a beutifully-positioned temple, with big ponds full of kois, I mean a giant koi!
Turtles, fishes, monkeys they got everything at the monastery.
Including mini replicas of The Great Wall which you all can see below
A compulsary stop to a fish-products factory. Grab some tittilating snacks, cured fish & squids..

The driver took us to a whirlwind roads of the jagged island.
The roads are so narrow, and so dangerous you HAVE to have somebody else on the driver's seat.
Final stop, the famous Teluk Nipah beach, it was so crowded & jam-packed with activities.
A family beach, golden sandies & gentle slope.
I bought a(nother) windchime with big pieces of lobster & shellfish and T-shirt.

Almost 7 pm, we hurried to the jetty hoping to catch the next ferry.
It was a short trip, considering we didn't walk to anywhere.
Not everything is in walking distant unfortunately...
So vrooom here, vrooooom there and you don't really have time to capture everything in your mind..

Anak-Anak Tak Sah Taraf

Moma & her babies squeaky-licking a bowl of milk
wa!you finishes before me
would you like to pose for me kid?
View all 7 photos...
I took some pictures of them.. Afraid I might not see them ever again
You know, after so many cats, I couldnt remember them all.
So If there's a photo opportunity, and I happen to have a camera stand by
I might as well take some pictures.

I don't have names for them yet. Heck they are not my cats why feel obligated to naming them?

Yeah I feel obligated.

I call the mother cat Ibu Kucing (Mother Cat)
And her 3 babies I haven't have any idea yet.
The ashy gray pup is by far the cutest. And he knows it damn well
He's always playing hard-to-get knowing that he'll be picked up & cuddled no matter what.
Already cocky attitude...flaunting his built-in swaggerishism

Cat pixs are the best! Yeah!
All pictures you've seen on this entry was totally natural. None are posed in such mannerism.
None of the cats were posed in harmful ways. If they did then it was their own will.
Sindri tanggung la!

tak dok sapa sapa suka bela tikuss...
kesian kat tikus pasal tak ada orang nak bela ....

Percutian di D'muara Resort

Siapa di luar?

View all 13 photos...
Date & Place : 3 - 4 February 2006
D'Muara Marine Park
Sg Haji Dorani, Sg Besar, Kuala Selangor.

We took off at afternoon & arrived there around 4pm.
Checked in & saw pur chalet for the first time.
Disappointing to say the least, the suite was nice... but there was only one queen bed
Who's gonna sleep on the floor tonight? (not me of course)

Everybody settled in, took some naps. Around 6 we went out to town.
To check out the live of the small town.
Quickly noticed all the kedai kain that scattered all over the place
At the end we bought TOTO and some towels etc..
Time to hit home!

There's a seaside restaurant belongs to the resort area.
People from everywhere come to eat there.
Must be popular I guess... I could barely open my eyes

Downsides:

Overall it was not a satisfying trip.
RM 130 for a room with one bed (nice bathroom tho) is a little too much.
We booked the Village View which meant we did not get to see the view from the sea.
Also, they charge an extra RM20 for the weekend holidayers. I think thats unnecessary.
The only thing to do here is fishing. And if you dont fancy it you should look elsewhere.

Good Sides:
Theres only 13 units of floating chalest (as they preferred to call) so you can guess its very quaint & romantic especially at dusk. Added bonus if you stay at one of the few sea view chalet.
You can practically throw the fishing line from verranda & enjoy the comfort of the cosy room.

On our way back home we incidentally bumped into the actual race of Le Tour de Langkawi.
The traffic was stopped to give way for the riders & we managed to snapped some low-quality photos.
Also we bought a type of shellfish called Siput Mentarang from the local hawker.
It taste realllllly nice!

A day at the Bird Park

Merak @ Peacock

stork eh?
View all 25 photos...
Date & Time : 9.30 am Monday January 30 2006
Place : Kuala Lumpur Bird Park
Fee : RM12 per adult

Took several photos until the battery drained itself.
This is my first visit.
Lots of peacocks and peahen... really.
Glad to know its not endangered in any way.
When we first walk into entrance we were greeted by a pair of Murai@Myna.
I saw some ducks swimming in a pond.
I can say that there was a plenty of flightless bird here.
If you're interested.
Too bad there were not much of owl.
Only a few of them, and they were all sleeping at that time.
So, no pix of owl for me.
I like owl

65% of the visitor were orangputih.
For a while you thought you were in Hawaii or something.
You could easily spend 2 hours walking throught the park so please wear something comfy.
Stopped at the Hornbill Souvenir Shop to buy some stuff.
A pair of miniature birds. An owl and a small tekukur.
Areally great souvenir to take home from the bird park ...
considering you can't pick/collect any feathers laying around.

:?:Taken on December 26, 2005.

Ayah Jie & his family came to KL to unwind a little bit.
They stayed at our house for a couple of days.
We said "Let's go to the park!"
The kids were not the only one who excited
I took most of the picture below.
We took another route around the lake. Passed by some tall Cempaka trees.
I couldn't pick any flowers that day...too high beyond my reach.

Went up onto the yellow gazebo.
Nice view of the surrounding of the lake from up there.

Overall the place is cleaned up.
I'm please to say that.
No more heavy bushes, most of them are now cut and trimmed properly.

The way it deserves to be.
From the beginning.

All those with 'wannabe professional scenery photog' stamped all over are my creation.
